Julie Weisenberger followed her passion for creating sophisticated knitting patterns and practical tools, and founded her own company, Cocoknits. She learnt to knit whilst studying in Europe and combined the tradition of English tailoring with ‘top-down’ techniques to develop her own knitting system: ‘The Cocoknits Method’.
This technique draws on principles of English tailoring to create flattering, bespoke jumpers, knitted from the top down and without seams. Their clean silhouettes and the use of high-quality yarns result in elegant, comfortable designs that are accessible to knitters of all levels.
As well as designing patterns, Julie creates knitted accessories inspired by over 30 years’ experience in teaching and practising knitting. Her aim is to create durable and sustainable tools that enhance the knitting experience: pieces designed by a knitter for those who share the same passion, intended to inspire and support creativity.
