Nancy Marchant

Nancy Marchant, known as the Queen Mother of Brioche, published her first pattern in 1974. Nancy has studied the nuances of brioche knitting in depth and has developed innovative patterns and techniques to achieve beautiful results in brioche and tuck stitches.

This author of seven books on brioche and tuck stitches has recently begun developing knitting patterns featuring a woven knitting effect.

Woven Knitting

Previous knowledge:

  • You should be able to knit and purl fluently using circular needles.

Materials required:

  • At least DK-weight yarn in 4 solid colours of wool or cotton.
  • 3.5–4 mm double-pointed or circular needles
  • Stitch markers
  • Yarn winders (if you have them)
  • Optional: if you want to use mohair/silk in your sample, don’t forget to bring your own yarn.

Tuck Stitches, The Family Of Brioche Knitting

  • 3.5 mm double-pointed or circular needles. If you wish to work with mohair or silk, bring two contrasting colours
  • 4.5 mm double-pointed or circular needles

A ticket to one or more workshops includes entry to Barcelona Knits for the weekend.

Access to Barcelona Knits is granted via a wristband for personal use only, which is non-transferable. Once validated, we will place the wristband on your wrist and you must wear it throughout the event in order to gain access to the venue.

Only one wristband will be issued per ticket and per person, even if you have purchased multiple tickets in a single transaction. You are not permitted to collect another person’s wristband.

Early entry grants exclusive access to all rooms on Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00, subject to the capacity limits of the WTC Barcelona. Please note that queues may form outside, particularly on Saturday morning.
