PATTERN FOR BARCELONA KNITS 2ª EDITION

As in the previous edition of Barcelona Knits, when presenting your ticket at the box office, we gave you the Mediterranean Pattern pattern designed by Esther Romo @elleplpusdesign. Download it here.

Esther is a knitting designer. She was born in Salamanca, and although she has been living in Madrid for almost 10 years, she is deeply in love with Barcelona. She has formation as UX designer and consultor, she considers herself to be a “geek”.

This textile lover combines the best of the artisan and the technological word to offer original knitting designs That is why we decided to ask her to create a shawl for the 2nd edition of Barcelona Knits.

THE STORY OF THE MEDITERRÁNEO PATTERN IN HER OWN WORDS.

“When I lived in Barcelona, I tended to visit the harbor and the beach quite often. To go there was a visual ritual full of light, and, while walking, I went through some wonderful spots.

The famous Barceloneta, a neighborhood where people have a walk to evade their routine, was my favorite place to spend the day with the love of my life. I could say that the Mediterranean sea brings me lots of wonderful memories. If there is something characteristic from Barcelona, apart from its architectonic and urbanist culture, is the sea.

This year, Barcelona Knits will be held at the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. When the organizers asked me to create a new design, I didn’t think it twice, I knew what I wanted to do and them, as good connoisseurs as they are, immediately understood the visual message, without any explanation.

With the Mediterráneo shawl, you will have a small sea knitted by hand, and you will be able to create ocean currents in your needles and feel that you are there.
