Xolla is a brand of wool from Ripollesa sheep, native to the area of central Catalonia.
This Catalan sheep breed is in danger of extinction. For this reason, every year Xolla collects the wool from the flocks on the day of shearing. To transform it into yarn, they collaborate with small Spanish family-run factories, following ecological and socio-economic criteria. Their aim is to enhance the value of Ripollesa wool, previously considered a waste product, and to produce local yarns.
Their wools are a bit rustic, natural and imperfect. They have texture, the smell of sheep, a lot of history and a great commitment to the territory. If you feel like knitting with local wool, produced in a traditional way, try Xolla.
